101Men and women are increasingly looking for ways to look younger without undergoing surgery. Some people dont want to commit to the recovery time and cost surgery requires. Fortunately, there are an ever-increasing amount of non-surgical cosmetic options for patients who want to fight the visible signs of aging without the commitment. Here are just a few options for taking years off your face:

Botox injections involve the use of a protein to relax the muscles in your face that make repetitive expressions. Once the muscles relax, the deep wrinkles above them also relax, which makes them look softer and prevents them from deepening. When done properly, you will still be able to make your usual facial expressions, without worrying about the frozen look celebrities sometimes get from too many injections.

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, also known as BBL, or BroadBand Light therapy. This involves the use of specific wavelengths of light to combat the appearance of red spots, age spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. IPL will also stimulate collagen production, making the skin tighter and firmer. If you have developed brown spots as youve aged, an IPL photofacial is the perfect non-surgical procedure for reducing their appearance.

Laser Resurfacing

With laser resurfacing, we used a finely-calibrated laser to treat a number of complaints: fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven skin texture, too-large pores, acne scarring, uneven skin tone, and dull, dead skin. The laser uses heat to remove dead or damaged skin, revealing newer, younger-looking skin underneath. Like IPL, it also encourages collagen growth, resulting in firmer skin. Laser resurfacing is very specific, so it can be used to treat one small problem area, or the entire face. Your surgeon can also set the laser to whatever depth is necessary for you, ensuring that your recovery will never be longer than necessary.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are used to plump up sunken or thinning areas of the face. The most well-known use for dermal fillers is as a lip plumper, but it can also be used to effectively fill in deep wrinkles, especially those around the nose and mouth. Dermal fillers are an excellent option for patients who are considering a facelift or mini-lift, but want to try a non-surgical option first.
